The nominations for the 28th Annual OFTA Television Awards have been announced.
Leading the nomination count for the 2023-2024 television season, Best Drama Series nominee Shogun earned a total of twenty-three nominations. Coming in second is Best Comedy Series nominee The Bear with 20. Following that are Fallout and Only Murders in the Building with 19 each. In fifth is The Crown with eighteen total nominations.
Competing against Shogun, The Crown, and Fallout for Best Drama series are 3 Body Problem (14), The Gilded Age (10), The Morning Show (13), Mr. & Mrs. Smith (13), and Star Trek: Strange New Worlds (6).
In Best Comedy Series, The Bear and Only Murders in the Building are nominated alongside Abbott Elementary (11), Curb Your Enthusiasm (3), Hacks (10), Palm Royale (9), Reservation Dogs (6), and What We Do in the Shadows (14).
Nominated in the limited or anthology series category this year are Baby Reindeer (9), Fargo (13), Fellow Travelers (7), Feud: Capote vs. the Swans (10), Lessons in Chemistry (13), Ripley (14), The Sympathizer (4), and True Detective: Night Country (10).
The Best Motion Picture nominees are Mr. Monk’s Last Case: A Monk Movie (2), Quiz Lady (1), Red, White & Royal Blue (1), Scoop (1), and Unfrosted (1).
The winners will be announced on Sunday, September 22, 2024.
