The winners for the 28th Annual OFTA Television Awards have been announced.
Shogun, which received a total of 17 awards, was the most honored program of the year and set a new record for most wins in a single season. It won Best Drama Series, as well as citations for Hiroyuki Sanada as Best Actor, Nestor Carbonell as Guest Actor, Casting and Ensemble, Directing, Writing, Music Composition, Picture Editing, Cinematography, Production Design, Costume Design, Makeup, Sound Mixing, Sound Editing, Special Visual Effects, Stunt Coordination, and Main Title Theme Music.
Other winners in the drama series categories were Imelda Staunton, Jonathan Pryce, Elizabeth Debicki, and Claire Foy from The Crown in Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, and Guest Actress respectively. That series also won the Costume Design category.
On the comedy side, The Bear won awards for Comedy Series, Actor (Jeremy Allen White), Guest Actor (Jon Bernthal), Guest Actress (Jamie Lee Curtis), Directing, Writing, and Picture Editing. Hacks won the awards for Actress (Jean Smart) and Supporting Actress (Hannah Einbinder). Abbott Elementary won awards for Best Supporting Actor (Tyler James Williams) and Cinematography. Only Murders in the Building won for Casting & Ensemble, Production Design, and Makeup.
Quiz Lady won Best Motion Picture while Baby Reindeer won on the Limited or Anthology Series side. The latter also received the award for Writing. Ripley won six awards for Actor (Andrew Scott), Supporting Actress (Dakota Fanning), Writing, Music Composition, Picture Editing, and Cinematography. True Detective: Night Country earned Jodie Foster the prize for Actress. Feud: Capote vs. the Swans gave the late Treat Williams the prize for Supporting Actor. And Fargo won for Casting & Ensemble.
